Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 August 2026 · Effective from: 1 August 2026
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store, so that the site can recognise the same browser on a later request. This page lists exactly which cookies auctoryai.com uses, what each one is for, how long it lives and how to get rid of it.
The current situation
Auctory Tools sets no advertising cookies, no profiling cookies and no social media cookies. There is no login, no shopping basket and no personalisation, so there is nothing to remember about you between visits. The only cookies in play are the measurement cookies of Google Analytics 4.
The tools themselves do not use cookies at all. Where a tool remembers a preference — a chosen template, a last-used export size — it stores that in your browser's local storage on your own device, and that value is never transmitted anywhere.
Cookies used today
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics 4 | Assigns a random identifier to the browser so repeat visits are counted as one visitor rather than several. | 2 years |
_ga_<container-id> |
Google Analytics 4 | Keeps the session state for this specific property — when a visit started and whether it is still running. | 2 years |
_gid |
Google Analytics (legacy) | May appear in some Google configurations to distinguish visitors within a single day. | 24 hours |
These are first-party cookies, written for the auctoryai.com domain and read only by the Analytics script. They contain a random number, not your name, e-mail or any file information. What Analytics measures overall is described in the Privacy Policy.
Cookies that would appear if advertising is enabled
Advertising is switched off right now, so none of the following exists on the site today. We are listing them in advance so the change is not a surprise. If we enable Google AdSense or Google Ad Manager in the future, the following categories may be added:
- Ad delivery and frequency capping — remembers which ads you have already been shown so the same one is not repeated (for example Google's
__gads,__gpi). - Measurement and fraud prevention — counts impressions and clicks and filters invalid traffic.
- Personalisation — only where you have given consent for it; without consent, ads served would be non-personalised.
Before any such cookie is set we will show a cookie consent notice with a genuine reject option, and this page plus the Privacy Policy will be updated on the same day.
Requests that are not cookies
Some tools load a library from a public CDN (jsDelivr, cdnjs, unpkg) and every page loads fonts from Google Fonts. These requests do not set cookies for us, but the receiving provider does see your IP address and may apply its own technical storage under its own policy. This is explained honestly in the Privacy Policy.
How to refuse or delete cookies
You are always in control. Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete existing ones or wipe them automatically when you close the window:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Delete browsing data.
- Safari — Settings → Privacy → Block all cookies, or Manage Website Data to remove individual entries.
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data / Clear Data.
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Mobile browsers — the same options live under Settings → Privacy in the browser app itself.
Blocking cookies does not break Auctory Tools. Because there is no login and no saved state, the tools work identically with cookies switched off — you will simply be counted as a new visitor each time.
Opting out of Google Analytics specifically
- Install Google's official Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which stops Analytics data from being sent from any site you visit.
- Or turn on your browser's tracking protection / content blocker, which blocks the Analytics script before it loads.
- Or simply delete the
_gacookies listed above whenever you want to reset the identifier.
Changes to this policy
Whenever the cookies on this site change — most importantly if advertising is ever enabled — we will update the table above and the date at the top of the page.
